Inspired by a visit to Shakespeare's Globe in London, The Cunning Linguist is a struggling words-worth/poet who is facing fears of stage-fright and trying to succeed in the 17th century.  Very similar to an independent music artist, expressing yourself and vying to be heard can be one of life's biggest challenges, whichever era you were alive.

This song was written for a band I used to be in, back in 2018.  How we played it and how it sounded back then is a world away from what this version is. I have completely stripped it back and remixed it, re-applied the vocals and some guitars and now you have the 2025 version of Tales of Yesterlife. The 'TURN IT UP REALLY LOUD AND LETS HAVE IT' Version!
